Senior Companion / Private Caregiver – Full Time (Live-Out)

Full-time, adaptable schedule – 9:30-3:30 6 days a week or a weekend shift Pay: 30–$38/hour based on experience Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Senior Companion / Private Caregiver to support an aging couple in their home as they age in place. This is a full-time, live-out position with flexibility in scheduling for the right candidate. This role is focused on companionship, structure, safety, and quality of life, not heavy housekeeping. A professional cleaning service is already in place twice per week. One individual has dementia, so prior experience or familiarity with dementia care is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide companionship and emotional support in a calm, respectful environment
- Support daily routines and structure for an aging couple
- Assist with activities of daily living (personal care and grooming, mobility support)
- Support cognitive engagement and routines appropriate for dementia care
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks
- Provide medication reminders and support
- Drive confidently and safely and accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, and social visits
- Perform light household tasks related to care (tidying, laundry, organization)
- Communicate clearly and proactively with family regarding well-being and any concerns Required Qualifications
- Confident,



experienced driver with a valid Alberta driver’s license and clean abstract (required)
- Prior experience in senior care, companion care, or dementia care (required)
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment
- Reliable, professional, and highly dependable Preferred Qualifications
- Health Care Aide, nursing background, or healthcare-related training
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia
- CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Work Environment
