Waterloo

Job Summary Paragon is an established engineering firm based in Waterloo, delivering energy and electrical engineering services to the ICI (industrial, commercial, institutional) and agricultural sectors. Founded in 2015, we've grown from a startup into a respected multi-disciplinary practice, and we're hiring an electrical engineering technician to grow with us. The word Paragon means “a model of excellence,” which we strive for in every project and client interaction. We hold strong values around integrity, work ethic, customer service, and respect for everyone we work with — employees, partners, suppliers, and clients alike. Representative projects include:
- Arc flash, short-circuit, and coordination studies for municipalities, institutions, and industrial facilities
- Fire alarm and sprinkler system design for seniors’ residences, schools, and commercial buildings
- Commercial and agricultural solar PV installations, from rooftop to ground-mount
- Standby power, battery storage, and energy-management projects This role is a great fit if you…
- Thrive in a collaborative, close-knit team
- Are energized by wide-ranging, multi-disciplinary projects rather than doing the same thing twice
- Take initiative, learn on your own, and run with problems independently
- Are genuinely curious and passionate — about your work and about things outside of it
- Want to work somewhere with real character: our home is Den 1880, a vibrant coworking building and community in the heart of the region A note on experience We care as much about who you are as what’s on your transcript. Many strong candidates come to us with a couple of years of experience or less, and that’s perfectly fine. What stands out to us is a track record of doing: an early job in fast food or stocking shelves, coaching a team,

volunteering, a side project you built in the garage, a hobby you’ve gone deep on. Show us you’ve engaged with the world, worked hard, and bring initiative and grit. In your application, tell us what you’re passionate about and what you’ve done beyond school. Responsibilities and Duties

- The core schedule is a 40-hour work week,

8:00am–4:30pm Monday to Friday with a half-hour lunch, and flexibility for flex time Qualifications and Skills
- A college diploma in electrical engineering technology or eligibility for a Professional Engineering (P.
Eng) licence — we’re open to both. If you have the fundamentals, we want to hear from you.

- Ability to set priorities and work toward objectives with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a personable manner
