## Position Overview Job Title: Security Supervisor Employment Type: Full time Pay Rate: $28.00/hour Site: The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) Schedule: Continental Rotation (0700–1900 / 1900–0700) Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (Overtime after 88 hours) ## Site Overview The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a world-renowned paediatric healthcare center dedicated to improving children's health through care, research, and education. Security team members at SickKids help maintain a safe, peaceful, and welcoming environment for young patients, families, healthcare professionals, and visitors. ## What You'll Be Doing As a Security Supervisor, you will oversee daily site security operations, support and guide shift personnel, and act as a key liaison between security staff, hospital leadership, and local emergency services.
- Provide leadership, coaching, shift scheduling, and operational guidance to assigned security guards.
- Manage daily shift operations, including briefings, attendance, routine patrols, security audits, and task assignments.
- Maintain a visible security presence across patient care units, emergency departments, entrances, and common areas.
- Respond to hospital emergency codes, medical calls, fire alarms, and security incidents in a calm and efficient manner.
- Apply verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to support patients, families, visitors, and staff during challenging situations.
- Investigate, document, and report safety incidents, complaints, and operational updates in shift logs and detailed reports.
- Support safety planning and risk assessments for sensitive scenarios,



including missing patient protocols and access management.
- Address team performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure compliance with site protocols and company policies. ## Must Haves
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Valid WSIB-approved First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Previous security supervisory experience.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and site-required background screening.
- Valid immunization record meeting hospital requirements (MMR, Varicella, 2-step TB Skin Test, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination if required by site policy). ## Nice-to-Haves
- Previous security experience in a hospital, healthcare, or high-volume public environment.
