Carpenter Kawartha Lakes Construction | Lakefield, Ontario Full time | Residential Construction | Kawartha Lakes Region Love the craft. Enjoy the variety. Be proud of the result. There is something special about standing back at the end of a job, looking at what you've built and knowing you've done it right. At Kawartha Lakes Construction, that's what we strive for every day. We're an established, award-winning custom home and renovation company with deep roots in the Kawarthas. We build beautiful homes and cottages, boathouses and garages, tackle challenging renovations and additions, and take enormous pride in the craftsmanship, relationships and trust behind everything we do. We're looking for an experienced Carpenter who shares that pride. Someone who enjoys working with their hands, thinking through challenges, getting the details right and being part of a team that genuinely cares about its work. And yes, we believe you should have some fun along the way A little different from the usual carpentry job Our carpenters play an important role across our construction projects. Rather than being assigned to a single build from beginning to end, you'll bring your skills to the projects and situations where they make the greatest difference. One day you might be tackling an intricate construction detail. Another, helping move a major renovation forward, resolving a tricky site challenge or putting the finishing touches on something exceptional. It's varied, hands-on work that calls for real carpentry skills, sound judgement and a commitment to quality. You'll work alongside experienced construction professionals and trusted trade partners who share your commitment to getting things right.

What you'll do

- Deliver high-quality carpentry on custom homes, cottages, additions and renovations, from structural work to detailed finishing.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and plans, turning them into precise, well-executed work.
- Tackle construction challenges with practical thinking,

sound judgement and pride in your craftsmanship.
- Collaborate with our Site Supervisors, Project Developers, fellow carpenters and trade partners to keep projects moving.
- Take ownership of your work, including quality, productivity, schedule commitments and attention to detail.
- Maintain safe, organized and professional work environments, respecting our clients' homes and properties.
- Communicate progress, identify concerns early and contribute to solutions, including through brief daily updates and photos. What we're looking for First and foremost, we're looking for a great carpenter and a great teammate. Someone who:
- Has strong residential carpentry experience, ideally at least 5,000 hours, with demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Takes genuine pride in quality and notices the details others might miss.
- Can read construction drawings, work confidently with tools and apply sound building practices.
- Is comfortable figuring things out, solving problems and knowing when to ask questions.
- Is dependable, organized, safety-conscious and accountable for their work.
- Communicates respectfully and works well with colleagues, trades and clients.
- Enjoys variety and is comfortable contributing across different projects and stages of construction. A Red Seal or journeyperson qualification is valued, but demonstrated skill, judgement and experience matter just as much to us. You'll also need a valid Ontario G driver's licence, your own basic carpentry tools, and the ability to use a phone or tablet for straightforward job communication and reporting.
