Summary As a Junior Product Design Engineer on our Chassis Systems Team, you will design innovative, precision mechanical products, driving them through the entire development process, from ideation to production. You'll turn concepts into manufacturable products through an iterative cycle of modeling, prototyping, testing, and revising until the design meets project requirements. Working across multiple concurrent projects, you’ll collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing to keep scope, costs, and timelines on track. Success will ultimately mean bringing precision products to life that make our customers shoot better.

Key Responsibilities

- Working with key stakeholders and the product development team to develop new and refine existing products.
- Using engineering knowledge and experience to effectively and efficiently reach product development goals.
- Creating and modifying part and assembly models and production drawings.
- Liaising with other departments to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes, costs, and commercial issues.
- Participating in and supporting the creation of technical specifications, installation instructions, and other support documents.
- Detailed project planning and maintenance of timelines to keep other departments informed on project status.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously.



Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1+ years of mechanical design experience across a range of fabrication processes (co-op or internship experience applicable)
- Analytical and communication skills to develop a solution and be able to communicate it effectively with teammates, other disciplines, suppliers, project managers and stakeholders
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced workplace
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings
- Experience with precision fabrication and assembly methods, plus mechanical drawing including functional dimensioning, and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Firm grasp of engineering fundamentals
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
- Testing and analysis experience, including FEA, simulation, and design of experiments Preferred Qualifications
- Individually driven and always striving for continuous improvement of themselves and their designs
- Team focused and goal oriented
- Experience with outdoor goods, sporting goods, firearms, or other precision and rugged consumer products that involve moving mechanisms
- Experience assisting in the development of physical consumer products from concept through to mass production, working within cross-functional teams
- A user-centered approach, translating real user needs into requirements and keeping the user experience front and center
- Hands-on prototyping ability, including building, testing, and iterating functional prototypes
- Materials knowledge for demanding consumer applications: engineering polymers, metals, adhesives, coatings, and surface finishes Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
