Join Our Team as a Food Service Worker (Casual) At Cove Guest Home, we know that mealtimes are about more than food. They are an opportunity to create comfort, connection, and a positive experience for our residents. We are currently seeking Food Service Workers who take pride in providing excellent service and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining environment. This role supports meal preparation, meal service, sanitation, and positive dining experiences for residents under the supervision of the Clinical Dietitian. We are looking for individuals who are available for casual (on-call) work and who have good availability on weekends, weekdays, and holidays. Compensation ranges from $20.89 to $21.22 per hour, plus applicable shift premiums, including an additional $4.00 per hour for shifts worked between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., an additional $4.00 per hour for weekend shifts, and time-and-a-half pay for shifts worked on statutory holidays The Cove operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Employees must be available to work shifts across the seven-day schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Food Services Shifts Include
· 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
· 7:00 am to 11:00 am
· 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
· 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
· 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm
What You'll Do
As a Food Service Worker, you will play an important role in our Dietary Department by:
· Assisting with food preparation and snack service
· Setting tables and serving meals in resident dining rooms
· Preparing meal trays as needed
· Collecting, washing, and sanitizing dishes and kitchen equipment
· Maintaining clean and organized dining and kitchen areas
· Cleaning food carts, tables, chairs, sinks, dishwashers, and related equipment
· Ensuring food service areas meet all safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards
· Assisting with garbage removal and maintaining clean waste disposal areas
· Participating in staff education, meetings, emergency preparedness activities, and fire drills
· Supporting a positive dining experience for residents, guests, and staff. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate:

· Holds a valid Food Handler Certificate (or is willing to obtain and maintain certification as required).
· A transparent Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is required as a condition of employment.
