- Cardston Facilities Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Rotating day and overnight shifts) ## Site Overview This role serves key Alberta Health Services (AHS) healthcare facilities in Cardston and the surrounding region. Working in a healthcare setting is dynamic and community-focused, where guards play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, compassionate, and secure environment for patients, medical staff, and visitors. ## What You'll Be Doing
- Provide welcoming customer service and assistance to staff, patients, and site visitors.
- Conduct proactive security patrols across facility grounds, walking up to 18 to 20 km and navigating stairs during shifts.
- Respond promptly to security alarms, facility emergencies, and medical calls.
- De-escalate tense or crisis situations calmly, liaising with emergency responders including police, fire, and paramedics.
- Manage crowd control and address policy breaches or trespassing professionally.
- Write detailed, clear incident reports and daily activity logs using computer applications.
- Provide first aid support when needed and handle lost and found inquiries.
- Communicate clearly across the site using two-way radios. ## Must Haves
- Ability to obtain a valid Alberta Security License.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Physical capability to walk 18 to 20 km and climb stairs throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour day and overnight shifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience with a professional, helpful approach.
