Are you an RN or RPN student currently in your 2nd or 3rd (or equivalent) year of study in a BCCNM recognized nursing education program? Then we have a student nursing position for you!

As an ESN, you will provide nursing care in a supernumerary capacity to patients/residents/clients commensurate with the level of education and competency attained in a BCCNM approved Nursing program. Working under the direction of an operational manager and regulatory supervisor, the ESN operates in accordance with Northern Health values, competency guidelines, policies and British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Standards for Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, and student registration guidelines.

ESNs can gain experience in a wide variety of health care settings across Northern Health.

Summer and year-round positions will run between April 1, 2027 – March 31, 2028 / Temporary Casual.

Note – for ESNs relocating to a new community to explore exciting employment opportunities during an academic break, there will be an chance to re-submit location preferences once again closer to Fall 2027. Depending on position availability, you may be able to experience a new community in the Fall / Winter portion of your employment.
