Entry-Level Industrial Conveyor Belt Splice Technician

Quality Belt Maintenance Ltd. is hiring Entry-Level Industrial Conveyor Belt Splice Technicians for permanent, full-time positions.

We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in learning a skilled trade within the industrial maintenance industry.

Successful candidates will receive on-the-job training and work alongside experienced technicians to develop the skills required to install, maintain, repair and splice industrial conveyor belting.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on field position that involves working at industrial customer sites, including manufacturing facilities, mines and other heavy industrial environments. Work is performed primarily at customer locations rather than in a traditional shop setting. Applicants must be comfortable working in varying conditions, travelling for assignments and adapting to changing work schedules.

Position details

- Starting wage: $25.00 per hour
- Permanent, full-time employment
- Approximately 40 hours per week, plus overtime

Primary responsibilities

- Assist experienced technicians with the installation, repair, replacement and splicing of industrial conveyor belts
- Learn mechanical splicing techniques and conveyor belt change-out procedures
- Assist with measuring, cutting, preparing and aligning conveyor belting
- Learn to identify belt damage, wear and maintenance requirements
- Safely use hand tools, power tools and specialized equipment under supervision
- Assist with scheduled maintenance,



plant shutdowns and emergency-service work
- Maintain tools, equipment and clean, organized work areas
- Follow all company and customer-site health and safety requirements
- Participate in required training and ongoing skills development

Requirements

- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning hands-on technical skills
- Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, mechanical work or industrial environments considered an asset
- Valid driver's licence with an acceptable driving record mandatory
- Valid passport mandatory
- Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and internationally, including to the United States
- Availability for overtime and varying schedules, including occasional evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments
- Ability to work at heights and in confined or restricted spaces after receiving the required training
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely and learn from experienced technicians
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work effectively as part of a team
