Therapy Assistant Practitioner
- Hand Therapy | North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner (0.59 WTE, 22 hours) – Hand therapy An opportunity has arisen for a (0.59 WTE, 22 hours) Band 4 post within the Hand Therapy outpatient team. Are you enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for helping patients regain use of their hand? Are you a adaptable team player who is keen to learn? Do you possess a caring and empathetic nature and have strong communication skills? The hand therapy team is a friendly team who work across three sites treating patients recovering from hand injuries, and conditions that affect the hands. We are a supportive team and you will have regular training and weekly supervision. Your role will include clinical (1:1 clinical assessments and facilitating groups) and non clinical duties such as stock taking, general housekeeping and administrative duties. The post will be based at PCH site.



To undertake assessments and treatments for patients that have been screened by a Therapist and deemed appropriate for Therapy Assistant Practitioner intervention with case management advice available via indirect and direct contact with a registered therapist. To enable patients, their families and carers in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by providing treatment programmes developed and monitored by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in supervision. To deliver safe, efficient and effective patient focussed care in line with local standards. To be actively involved in the in-service training programme, including the mentoring and training of Band 2 and 3 therapy assistants and supporting students as required. Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.
