PRODUCTION YARD LABOURER POSITION

Brisco Wood Preservers Ltd. is a major Canadian producer of CCA-treated wood poles, supplying utility and communications companies throughout Western Canada.

Our main pole production facility is located in Brisco, BC, just north of Radium Hot Springs in the beautiful Columbia Valley. Our Brisco facility supplies poles to our treating facility located in Peers, Alberta.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Production Labourer will learn and perform a variety of tasks related to pole production, inventory counting, general cleanup, and other duties as required.

This position is located at our production facility in Brisco, BC.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining a robust focus on safety, quality, and production.

· Work on production skids, including inspecting peeled poles for defects, classing, sizing, and cutting poles to length.

· Complete paperwork neatly and accurately to ensure inventory records are properly maintained.

· Work effectively as part of an assigned crew.

· Follow established procedures and safe work practices to consistently produce high-quality results.

Qualifications

· Previous experience in a pole production facility is an asset; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

· Experience using a chainsaw, tape measure, and other hand tools.





· Ability to follow direction and work cooperatively with others to complete assigned tasks.

· Basic math skills.

· Self-reliant, organized, motivated, and quality oriented.

· Physically capable of performing the duties associated with a production environment.

· Forestry experience is an asset.

· A valid Advanced First Aid certificate is considered a strong asset.
