General Laborer – Commercial Roofing

About the role
Camco Roofing is looking for a dependable General Labourer to support our commercial roofing crews. You’ll work under the direction of a foreperson, helping with roof installation and repair, material handling, site setup, and cleanup. Roofing experience is an asset, but we’re willing to train the right person.
What you’ll do
- Load, unload, move, and organize roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with roof tear-offs, installations, repairs, and other crew tasks.
- Keep the work area clean and help protect the building and surrounding site.
- Use basic hand and power tools safely, following direction from the crew lead.
- Follow company and site safety procedures, including fall-protection requirements.
- Work cooperatively with the crew and communicate hazards or concerns promptly.
What we’re looking for
- Roofing or general construction experience is an asset; commercial roofing experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s licence is required. Reliable transportation / clean driving record.
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
- Able to lift and carry up to 100 lb / other job-appropriate limit] and do regular physical work, including standing, bending, kneeling, and walking.
- Dependable, punctual, safety-minded, and able to take direction.
- Able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Available for early starts / overtime / occasional weekends / out-of-town work.
- Any required certifications or site tickets, such as fall protection or first aid is an asset.
Safety clothing and equipment
Workers must arrive ready for outdoor construction work and wear:
- CSA-approved safety boots with protective toes.
- Work clothing suitable for roofing and changing weather.
- High-visibility clothing where required by the site.
Camco Roofing will provide or specify required job-site PPE, including, hard hats, eye and hearing protection, gloves, and approved fall-protection equipment, in accordance with applicable site and safety requirements.
