Responsible Adult / Before & After School Educator

Our before & after school program is looking for a very active, energetic and outgoing person to join our team as a Responsible Adult.

This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys being active with school-aged children, organizing games and activities, spending time outdoors, and working as part of a small team.

Requirements

- Experience working with school-aged children is mandatory.
- Must have a Class 4 driver’s licence or be willing to obtain one.
- Must have a Responsible Adult Certificate or be willing to complete the required 20-hour online course before your start date.
- First Aid certification is required but can be obtained after hiring.
- Criminal Record Check required
- Must be able to work collaboratively and professionally with staff, children and parents.
- Must be comfortable being active, outdoors and on your feet for much of the afternoon.
- A good knowledge of CCLR guidelines is a strong asset.

Hours

Regular school-year hours:

Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00–6:30 PM

School closure / Pro-D days:

Full-day hours are required.

School breaks:

Closed during winter break. Full-day programs operate during spring break and summer.

Responsibilities

- Pick up children from their classrooms and safely transition them to the before & after school program. Staff travel to the school together on the daycare bus.
- Organize and lead sports, games, outdoor activities and other age-appropriate activities at the park and in our athletic area.
- Keep children active,



engaged and appropriately supervised throughout the afternoon.
- Take accurate attendance and maintain regular head counts.
- Sign children in upon arrival and out when they are picked up.
- Follow all required health, safety and childcare procedures.
- Clean and disinfect classrooms, bathrooms and high-touch areas daily.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to maintain a positive and protected environment.

Position Details

Job Type: Part-time, permenant

Commitment : Minimum 1-year commitment required

Starting Wage: $22–$24/hour, depending on childcare experience and Class 4 licence status.

Wage increases are available following the 3-month probationary period.
