At Sing Music Studio, our mission is to bring a sparkle to the eyes of everyone we touch.

We are currently seeking an experienced piano instructor, ideally with the ability to teach voice, to join our teaching team in the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga.

Our immediate priority is finding an instructor who is confident teaching intermediate and advanced piano students in addition to young beginners and has availability on weekday afternoons and evenings.

We also welcome instructors who can teach additional instruments, including guitar, ukulele, bass and drums. Multi-instrument experience is a valuable asset, but is not required.

As part of our ongoing recruitment, we remain interested in connecting with talented music educators for current and future teaching opportunities.

Our Sparkling Instructors are warm, engaging musicians who love connecting with students, building confidence and helping them discover their own musical spark.

There may also be opportunities to teach group music classes and coach bands and ensembles.

What You'll Do

As a Sparkling Instructor, you may:

- Teach engaging private lessons to children, teens and adults
- Build strong connections with students and help them develop confidence as musicians
- Adapt your teaching to individual learning styles, interests and goals
- Prepare students for performances and other studio opportunities
- Communicate professionally with families and the Sing Music Studio team
- Participate in group, band or ensemble teaching opportunities where appropriate

Musical Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in piano and/or voice, with a solid foundation in music theory and the musical knowledge required to confidently teach students at the levels you offer.
- Post-secondary music education, completed or currently in progress, is preferred, although equivalent practical training and experience are equally welcome.
- Previous music teaching experience and professional performance experience are assets.

Current post-secondary music students are encouraged to apply. We value musical competence, teaching potential and the ability to connect with students, regardless of whether you've completed your degree.

A current Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain one, is required.

Availability

Our regular teaching hours are Monday–Thursday, 3:00–9:00 PM and Saturdays, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Our current priority is weekday afternoon and evening availability, particularly for piano instruction. Saturday opportunities may be available.

Instructors are not required to be available every day; however, on the days they commit to teaching, full-shift availability is required.





We are particularly interested in instructors looking to build a consistent teaching schedule and become a long-term part of our team.

Compensation & Growth

This is a part-time subcontractor position.

Private lesson teaching rates start at $26/hour, with a performance review after 90 days and opportunities for rate progression. Established instructors also participate in annual reviews.

Separate rates apply to group and ensemble teaching, required training and other non-teaching assignments.
