Sunder Lumber Industries Ltd. is seeking two experienced Back Shop Supervisors to oversee daily production activities at our lumber manufacturing facility in Calgary.

We are looking for hands-on leaders who can effectively manage employees, coordinate production, maintain quality standards, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily back shop manufacturing and production operations.
- Manage production employees, assign tasks, and monitor productivity.
- Ensure production schedules and deadlines are consistently met.
- Oversee lumber cutting, processing, assembly, and material handling activities.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure products meet company quality standards.
- Coordinate material requirements with purchasing, yard, and production departments.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement improvements.
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.




- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance requirements.
- Train employees, address performance concerns, and promote teamwork.
- Provide daily production updates to management.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in lumber manufacturing, wood products, construction materials, or a similar production environment.
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of production workflows and workplace safety.
- Ability to manage employees and meet production deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with truss manufacturing, wall panels, or prefabricated building components is an asset.
- Forklift experience is an asset.
