About SULU

SULU is a locally owned downtown Saskatoon restaurant serving innovative Asian cuisine, thoughtful cocktails, and a curated beverage program in a lively, guest-focused environment. Since opening in February of 2025, we've built our identity around bold flavours, quality ingredients, creative drinks, and food that brings people together.

We're looking for an experienced bartender/server who takes pride in their craft, cares about the guest experience, and wants to be part of a strong team. This is an opportunity for someone who knows their way around a busy service, enjoys the details of hospitality, and is interested in gradually growing with our business and operations as they settle into the team.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an established hospitality professional who enjoys working the floor and behind the bar, but is also ready to take on more responsibility over time.

We're looking for someone who understands that outstanding hospitality is about more than taking orders and serving drinks. It's about reading the room, anticipating guest needs, supporting your teammates, and helping create a service that feels seamless from start to finish.

What You'll Do

- Deliver polished, attentive, and personable service while building genuine connections with guests.
- Confidently bartend and serve across a diverse food and beverage menu.
- Prepare cocktails consistently and accurately, with attention to technique, presentation,



and recipe standards.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of our menu, cocktails, wine, sake, and other beverage offerings.
- Make thoughtful food and drink recommendations, including pairings, and communicate menu details clearly.
- Maintain high standards for bar setup, mise en place, cleanliness, organization, and closing procedures.
- Support smooth service by communicating effectively with the kitchen, bar, hosts, and fellow servers.
- Help maintain a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
- As you grow into the role, take on additional responsibilities such as supporting shift coordination, assisting with opening and closing, helping train team members, and contributing to service standards and day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in a full-service restaurant, ideally in a combined serving and bartending role.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and restaurant service fundamentals.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing hospitality or attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in food, beverage, and the craft of hospitality.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Someone who takes initiative, anticipates what needs to be done, and doesn't wait to be asked.




- A team-oriented mindset with the confidence to lead by example.
- Reliability, accountability, and pride in doing things properly.
- An interest in growing into a supervisory role and taking on greater responsibility over time.

Experience training staff, leading shifts, or assisting with restaurant operations is an asset, but we're equally interested in someone with strong fundamentals and clear leadership potential.
