Overview

Latium Technologies is seeking a resourceful, mechanically inclined Field Installation & Systems Technician to install, deploy, and service mobile security trailers, towers, cameras, sensors, and connected systems.

This role offers a mix of fieldwork, technical troubleshooting, and equipment preparation. You will travel to customer sites, solve practical problems, and ensure systems are operating reliably. Between field assignments, you will support equipment configuration, testing, and quality assurance in the shop.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows initiative, and follows a job through to completion. Experience in security systems is an asset, but we also welcome candidates with transferable technical skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Install, deploy, and commission security trailers, towers, cameras, sensors, and related equipment at customer sites.
- Set up and test power systems, networking equipment, and device connectivity.
- Troubleshoot faults, identify causes, and complete maintenance, repairs, and service calls.
- Confirm systems are fully operational and address deficiencies before leaving a site.
- Configure, label, and prepare cameras, sensors, and communications equipment for deployment.
- Complete quality assurance and operational testing of assembled units, including batteries, solar systems, cameras, and networking equipment.
- Work with coordinators and internal teams to confirm job requirements and communicate progress, issues, and follow-up needs.
- Complete accurate service records, testing checklists, photos, and installation documentation.
- Safely drive company vehicles, tow trailers, secure loads, and complete basic pre-trip inspections.
- Support equipment staging,



loading, unloading, and trailer assembly as needed.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, or similar equipment where trained and authorized.

Qualifications

- Experience in field service, equipment installation, mechanical assembly, electrical work, telecommunications, networking, or a related technical role.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
- A practical approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to investigate problems.
- A valid driver’s licence and confidence towing trailers.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and recognize when support is needed.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and consistent follow-through.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn new equipment and systems.
- Ability to perform physical installation work, including lifting, carrying, and moving equipment.

Assets: Familiarity with low-voltage wiring, CCTV, IP networking, solar and battery systems, or cellular and satellite communications.

Working Conditions

- Primarily field-based, with shop work between assignments.
- Regular travel to customer sites, sometimes on short notice.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional evening, weekend, and emergency service work.
- Physical work involving tools, equipment, driving, and trailer towing.
