Residential Painter – New Construction & Renovations

Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Residential Painter to join our growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a full-time, year-round opportunity working on newly constructed residential units, renovations, and existing rental properties. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes, works efficiently and independently, and enjoys being part of a team that values quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete interior and exterior painting of newly constructed residential units and existing properties.
- Prepare surfaces, including patching, sanding, caulking, priming, and drywall touch-ups.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Ensure clean, professional finishes on walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
- Complete painting and touch-up work during renovations and rental unit turnovers.
- Protect floors, fixtures, cabinetry, and surrounding areas throughout projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work environment.
- Estimate materials and coordinate supplies as needed.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure completed work meets quality standards.




- Assist with general finishing and minor maintenance tasks when required.

Qualifications

- Previous professional residential or commercial painting experience.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, painting techniques, and finishing standards.
- Experience with new construction and residential renovations considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Comfortable using painting tools, ladders, and related equipment safely.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
