CNC Mill Setter Operator – Day or Afternoon Shift

About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for experienced CNC Mill Setter Operators to join an established precision manufacturing company in Mississauga, Ontario, supporting the aerospace and defense industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on CNC milling experience who are comfortable preparing machines for production, setting tooling, adjusting offsets and ensuring machined components meet quality requirements.

The ideal CNC Mill Setter Operator has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and experience working in a precision machine shop.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling machines for production.

Prepare machines, fixtures and workpieces for machining operations.

*
Install and adjust cutting tools and establish machine offsets.

*
Load and unload materials and finished components.

*
Load existing CNC programs and make basic adjustments when required.

*
Monitor machine performance and identify machining issues.

*
Perform first-off and in-process dimensional inspections.

*
Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and production specifications.

*
Use micrometers, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.

*
Inspect, deburr and prepare finished components.

*
Maintain clean and safe work areas.

*
Work with machinists, supervisors and quality personnel to maintain production standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous hands-on CNC milling experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

Experience setting up CNC milling machines, including tooling, fixtures and offsets.

*
Familiarity with 3-axis CNC milling equipment; additional multi-axis experience is an asset.

Experience with Fanuc or Haas CNC controls preferred.

*
Ability to interpret blueprints and follow machining instructions.

*
Comfortable using precision measuring instruments.

*
Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools and quality requirements.

*
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

*
Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently.

*
Previous aerospace, defense or precision machining experience is an asset.

CNC programming experience is not required.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Day Shift

Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM–10:00 AM

Afternoon Shift

Monday–Thursday: 3:00 PM–1:00 AM
