Position Overview

Staffinity is seeking an on-site QA Automation Engineer for an innovative networking and edge-computing software provider located in Mississauga, ON.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position focused on end-to-end automation, backend API validation, and telecommunications workflows. In this role, you will test distributed microservices architectures, containerized environments, and telecom API integrations (including CAMARA network APIs). You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to write automated test scripts, analyze infrastructure failures, and ensure the reliability of mission-critical networking systems.

- Work Arrangement: On-site (Mississauga office — candidates should reside within approximately 30 minutes of the office)

- Compensation: Competitive base salary ($90,000 – $110,000+ DOE), comprehensive benefits, and growth incentives

Key Responsibilities

- Automation Scripting & Frameworks: Design, build, execute, and maintain automated test suites using Java or Python, integrating test suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
- API & Telco Service Validation: Thoroughly test RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization layers (OAuth2 / JWT), and telecom API integrations (such as CAMARA APIs like SIM Swap, Number Verification, and API routing).
- End-to-End Workflow Testing: Validate complete lifecycle workflows—including service deployment, user onboarding, role permissions, network configurations, API invocation chaining, and system stability under load.
- Microservices & Infrastructure Diagnostics: Troubleshoot containerized services running on Docker and Kubernetes. Analyze pod failures, trace IDs, distributed logs, and API invocation errors using Linux CLI and monitoring tools.




- Event Broker & Database Testing: Validate asynchronous message handling and event streams via RabbitMQ, executing data-integrity and backend transaction checks against PostgreSQL.
- Defect Ownership & Collaboration: Investigate complex edge cases independently, partner with core engineering and DevOps teams to isolate root causes, and track issues through to final resolution.

Qualifications

- Experience Level: Approximately 3 to 5 years of hands-on QA experience, with a core focus on test automation (backend/API and integration testing).
- Programming & Automation: Proficient in Java or Python, with hands-on experience using automation tools and libraries such as Playwright, Selenium, and API test harnesses (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, or PyTest).
- Telecom & Network Domain: Practical familiarity with telecom workflows, API routing, and network integrations (exposure to Open Gateway / CAMARA standards like SIM Swap or Number Verification is a robust asset).
- Infrastructure & Tooling:
- Solid command of Linux environments and shell commands.
- Experience investigating containerized workloads in Docker and Kubernetes (inspecting pod states, events, and service logs).
- Hands-on exposure to RabbitMQ (or equivalent brokers) and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
- Location & Commute: Must be locally based and able to commute reliably to the Mississauga office daily (ideal commute radius: within ~30 minutes).
