Overview
The Red Seal Automotive Technician inspects, repairs, and maintains vehicles, using mechanical knowledge and sound diagnostic practices to support safe, dependable operation. This hands-on role includes working with tools and equipment, interpreting schematics, and completing repairs and assembly with care. You’ll help customers understand completed work and give colleagues accurate information to support efficient service.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose vehicle concerns and complete automotive repair, maintenance, and assembly tasks.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely; apply welding skills when needed for repair work.
- Read schematics, inspect components, and document findings and completed work clearly.
- Perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting, while following safe work practices.

Skills
Required: Practical mechanical knowledge, automotive repair and maintenance capability, confidence using hand tools and power tools,



and the ability to interpret schematics and perform physical work safely. Clear communication and customer service skills help explain findings and support effective teamwork. mechanic experience, welding ability, and familiarity with assembly work can strengthen your contribution and help you adapt to diverse repair needs.

Pay: $33.00-$37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Experience:

- Journeyman: 2 years (required)
- Automotive repair: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Canadian PR, NOT on a work permit (required)
- Nova Scotia MVI Testers License (required)
