Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and talented Music Director for our children's production of Disney's Aristocats KIDS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and performance, and have experience working with youth ages 5-10. Rehearsals will be held January 5th-April 18th on Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm and Sundays 12:30-2:30pm at Smithson Public School. Show Week will be April 19th-24th, 2027 at KW Little Theatre.

Please Note: This position will require hours beyond the expected 4-6 hour range per week during Show Week as we will have 2 dress rehearsals and 6 performances.

Responsibilities

- Running rehearsals with the creative team.
- Leading and teaching vocal exercises to the cast.
- Assessing cast members’ vocal ranges and opportunities for growth.




- Managing an audition process and working with the Director to cast all participants.
- Working with the Creative Team to carry out rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and bring the dramatic performance to completion on the stage.

Qualifications
- Experience as a Music Director or similar role (music program, vocal coach, choir, etc)
- Ability to educate and inspire children and youth of diverse backgrounds
- Proficient in written communication for program planning
- First Aid/CPR Training or willingness to complete
- Vulnerable Sector Check

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
