We are currently looking to expand our team and are recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator. This position will be responsible for implementation of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and supporting management, site managers, and field staff in their responsibilities to maintain a progressive and responsible safety culture. The Health & Safety Coordinator role is a dynamic position that involves regular site visits to high-risk, multiple subcontractor building sites, and continual collaboration with DW executive and management staff, subcontractor management and OH&S; representatives, Worksafe BC, and others. The successful candidate must be committed to continual professional growth and development and have a genuine interest in workplace health and safety mechanisms and controls.

Health & Safety Coordinator

Job Description:

DW Builders is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator with a minimum of five years combined construction experience.

Responsibilities

- Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect residential and commercial construction sites.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct hazard identification to reduce workplace risks.




- Policy Development: Create, update and implement health and safety policies, SOP’s and Emergency Action Plans.
- Incident Investigations: Lead investigations in any workplace accidents, injuries or near misses to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Formal reporting and documentation of workplace activities and incidents related to Health and Safety.
- Training & Education: Conduct workshops with staff.
- Heavy Equipment Oversight: Monitor the safe operation, maintenance, inspection and positioning of cranes, excavators, rigging equipment.
- PPE Enforcement: Ensure mandatory compliance with PPE.
- OHS Policy Changes: Track WCB amendments/guidelines and update Health & Safety Policy in conjunction with senior management.
