Assembler – Wiring Job Description

Maxfield is a progressive, experienced and leading manufacturer known for high-quality products. We design, engineer, fabricate, package and service pressure vessels, pipe spools, structural skids and cargo transports for customers across Canada in the truck and transport, natural resources (oil and natural gas, and mining), propane distribution and marketing, power generation and cryogenic industries.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an Assembler to join our Transport team, with a focus on wiring. You will install and test the wiring and electrical systems on the trailers and transports we build, and help with other assembly work such as air systems, air brakes and running gear. An electrical trade is not required.

Responsibilities:

· Install, route and connect wiring, harnesses and lighting on trailers and transports

· Follow drawings and wiring diagrams to complete work correctly

· Cut, strip, crimp and label wire

· Test circuits and find and fix problems

· Help with other assembly work as needed, such as air systems, air brakes, running gear, material prep and pressure testing

· Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed

· Work safely and keep your work area clean and organized

Qualifications:





· Previous experience as a helper or assembler in a shop or related field

· Hands-on wiring experience

· Experience with air systems, air brakes, running gear, material prep or pressure testing

· Able to read drawings and wiring diagrams

· Able to work with minimal supervision

· Must supply your own basic hand tools

· Trailer or truck wiring experience is an asset

· Class 1 driver's licence is an asset

· Forklift or mobile equipment experience is an asset

· An electrical or heavy equipment trade (journeyperson or apprentice) is an asset
