Opportunity

Reporting to the GM, the Project Manager leads Manitoba projects from estimate and bid through to completion, keeping each job on time, on budget and running smoothly with field crews, customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Estimating and Bidding:

- Quantify and estimate bids, and price changes as projects move forward
- Prepare and submit bids
- Work closely with estimators and drafting to take projects from concept to completion

Project Delivery:

- Manage several projects at a time, from scheduling through to completion
- Track material orders so supplies arrive when the job needs them
- Oversee the preparation of shop drawings
- Work alongside superintendents to coordinate and direct field crews and subcontractors
- Keep projects within budget and meet the performance terms of each contract
- Plan ahead to prevent problems, and solve issues quickly when they come up
- Identify, manage and reduce project risks

Site and Quality:

- Visit job sites as needed and review work progress daily
- Oversee onsite and offsite work to make sure it meets building codes and safety regulations
- Make sure work meets quality standards and uses proper construction techniques

Relationships and Reporting:

- Act as the main point of contact for customers, field personnel and suppliers




- Build and maintain strong relationships with client's vendors and customers
- Prepare regular job status reports

Experience and Qualifications:

- Minimum 2+ years managing or coordinating commercial or industrial construction projects, including estimating, scheduling and directing field crews and subcontractors
- Post-secondary education in relevant field such as construction management, engineering or architecture is an asset
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Knowledge of building products, construction details, and the codes, regulations and quality standards that apply to them
- Strong planning skills and the ability to see the big picture
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several projects at once
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel, Bluebeam, Procore or similar construction management software
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
