Housekeeping Attendant Overview:

Join the team at Best Western Thompson as a Housekeeping Attendant and play an important role in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for our guests.

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and designated hotel areas. Your attention to detail, reliability, and positive attitude will help ensure that every guest enjoys a safe, comfortable, and pleasant stay.

This is a hands-on position that is well suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works well independently, and enjoys being part of a team. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Clean and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards and established procedures.
- Make beds and change bed linens, towels, and other room supplies as required.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, tubs/showers, mirrors, and floors.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean floors and other surfaces throughout guest rooms and designated hotel areas.
- Clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors, and other room features.
- Replenish guest room supplies such as towels, toiletries, tissues, and other amenities.
- Empty garbage and dispose of waste properly.
- Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness, damage, missing items, or maintenance concerns and report issues to the appropriate supervisor or department.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned public areas and other designated spaces as required.
- Follow proper procedures for the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning products and equipment.
- Use housekeeping equipment and supplies safely and appropriately.
- Follow hotel health, safety, sanitation, and security procedures.




- Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding guests and hotel operations.
- Respond professionally and courteously to guest requests and concerns, referring issues to management when appropriate.
- Assist with laundry, linen handling, deep cleaning, or other housekeeping duties as required.
- Complete assigned rooms and cleaning duties efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Work cooperatively with housekeeping staff, front desk staff, maintenance, and other hotel departments.
- Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
- Perform other housekeeping-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

- Previous housekeeping, hotel, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible work habits.
- Positive and professional attitude toward guests, coworkers, and management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple assigned tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment as required.
- Willingness to learn proper cleaning procedures and the safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
- Previous experience working in a hotel or guest-service environment is an asset.

Pay: From $17.40 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
