Cookstown Pet Supplies and Grooming Inc. is opening a brand-current, premium retail pet store and grooming salon for cats and dogs! We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and reliable Professional Pet Groomer to join our team.

In this role, you will operate out of our freshly renovated, commercial dog washing and grooming station. This is a high-earning, commission-based position where you keep 45% of the total grooming service cost plus 100% of your tips.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality, full-service grooming for various breeds of dogs and cats (bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, nail trimming, and ear cleaning).
- Consult closely with pet parents to understand styling preferences, specific instructions, and any behavioral or health history.
- Maintain a safe, impeccably clean, and sanitary grooming station.
- Handle all animals with extreme care, patience, and positive reinforcement techniques.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Proven Professional Grooming Experience: Must have a solid portfolio or verifiable track record of full-service pet grooming (dogs and cats).
- Pet Retail Experience (Strong Asset):

Prior experience working in a pet retail store setting is highly valued. Candidates who can confidently assist customers with retail items (treats, leashes, collars, kibble) and handle general store flow when not grooming will be given top priority.
- Own Tools Required: You must provide your own core grooming equipment (clippers, shears, blades, etc.).
- Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation: A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are a must for commuting daily to our Cookstown location.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to build a loyal local clientele.

Strict Geographic Non-Compete Clause

To protect our growing local clientele, this position includes an explicit non-compete restriction. Performing any private, independent grooming services at any residence or competing business within the Cookstown and Innisfil area is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy will be considered a conflict of interest and constitutes grounds for immediate dismissal.
