Hospice Quinte is currently seeking Casual Registered Nurses (RN).

Hospice Quinte’s Stan Klemencic Care Centre is the home of all of our programs and services. It is home to 6 residents requiring 24/7 clinical care. You will work collaboratively with the Hospice Residence Manager and clinical team.

12 hour shift rotations.



This position is part of the collective bargaining unit and offers a shift premiums.

$40.25 – $50.75 per hour + 10% in lieu of benefits.

Duties

- Assess and monitor patient health by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as InfoAnywhere.
- Provide support in pain management strategies for patients experiencing discomfort.
- Assist in laboratory procedures and tests as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain a safe environment for patients.

Skills

- Proficient in medical terminology and nursing practices.
- Experience working within a palliative care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as InfoAnywhere is a plus
- Compassionate approach towards patient care, with a focus on enhancing the overall patient experience.
