Job Overview

Join our team as a Part-Time Gas Station Attendant and Cashier, the friendly face and efficient operator of our busy service station. You'll provide excellent customer service, handle sales transactions, and help keep the station running smoothly, safely, and cleanly. This part-time position is a chance to build retail and sales expertise in a rapid-paced setting.

Duties

- Greet customers promptly and warmly, and assist with fueling, in-store products, lottery, and other station services
- Operate the cash register and POS system accurately, processing cash, debit, credit, and mobile payments
- Handle cash responsibly, follow proper cash-handling and reconciliation procedures, and balance registers at shift end
- Use basic math to calculate totals, discounts, and change accurately
- Promote convenience store items and loyalty programs through product recommendations and upselling
- Answer inquiries, resolve customer questions and concerns calmly and professionally, and escalate to management when necessary
- Restock shelves, refrigerators, and displays, and organize merchandise for good presentation
- Monitor inventory, report low-stock or out-of-stock items to management, and receive and organize deliveries
- Check product expiry dates and maintain proper rotation
- Keep the fueling areas, sales floor, counters, coolers, and washrooms clean and organized
- Monitor the store and fuel area, and report any safety, maintenance, or security concerns
- Follow all company policies and gas station safety protocols
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stocking, and securing the store




- Communicate effectively with customers and team members, in multiple languages if applicable
- Perform other store-related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

- Previous gas station, convenience store, retail, or fuel station experience preferred
- Alcohol serving license and propane license required
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including friendly phone etiquette
- Basic math proficiency for handling cash
- POS and Lottery experience preferred
- Organizational and time management skills for merchandising, stock management, and prioritizing during busy periods
- Ability to multitask and keep attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Energetic, reliable, and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to perform physical duties such as standing for long periods, stocking, and cleaning
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is an asset
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities highly valued

Pay and Hours

- Pay: $17.95 to $19.20per hour
- Expected hours: up to 30 per week (part-time)

Pay: $17.95-$19.20 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
