We are seeking a reliable and experienced Pen Rider / Cattle Processor to support daily feedlot operations, monitor cattle health and welfare, and assist with livestock processing and handling. The successful candidate will play an important role in identifying cattle requiring attention, assisting with treatments and processing procedures, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of livestock throughout the feedlot.

Terms of Employment: Full time position

Requirements:

- Valid Work Permit (if applicable), or Canadian Citizenship, or Permanent Residency (PR)
- Previous experience working with cattle in a feedlot or livestock operation is preferred.
- Pen riding experience and the ability to handle horses safely are considered solid assets.
- Experience in cattle processing, livestock handling, vaccination, and administering animal treatments is an asset.
- Knowledge of cattle health, behaviour, and animal welfare practices.
- Ability to identify signs of illness, injury, lameness, or abnormal cattle behaviour.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong observation skills, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




- Willingness to follow established safety procedures and animal handling protocols.

Work Environment: Working in all types of weather, feedlot setting.

Responsibilities: Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Ride through feedlot pens to monitor cattle health, behaviour, and overall condition.
- Identify and report sick, injured, lame, or distressed cattle to management.
- Assist with the sorting, gathering, moving, receiving, and shipping of cattle.
- Perform cattle processing procedures (vaccination, tagging, weighing, and administering treatments).
- Assist with handling and restraining cattle safely during processing and veterinary procedures.
- Monitor feed bunks, water availability, and pen conditions, reporting any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of cattle treatments, health observations, and processing activities.
- Maintain and clean livestock handling facilities, processing equipment, and work areas.
- Work collaboratively with feedlot staff and management to support efficient daily operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
