THE ROLE:
Our client is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Director to join their organization in a consulting capacity with the potential to transition into a longer-term leadership opportunity. This role will focus on strengthening and expanding the internal audit function, enhancing risk-based audit programs, and providing leadership to an established audit team

Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team
Strengthen and expand the organization's internal audit framework and capabilities
Design and enhance risk-based audit plans, methodologies, and processes
Oversee operational, financial, and compliance audits
Assess governance, risk management, and internal control environments
Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Support IFRS reporting environments and financial control processes
Drive audit initiatives that support strategic business objectives

ABOUT YOU:
You are a collaborative and influential audit leader with a strong background in both operational and financial statement auditing. You have a proven ability to enhance audit functions, lead teams through change, and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders. Your expertise in governance, risk management, and internal controls allows you to deliver meaningful insights that support organizational growth and risk mitigation

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation
3+ years of internal audit leadership experience
Strong background in operational auditing
Extensive financial statement audit experience
Proven success building, enhancing, or transforming internal audit functions
Deep understanding of governance, risk management, and internal controls
Experience developing risk-based audit plans and methodologies
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
Knowledge of IFRS reporting environments
Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives
