The Opportunity
We are looking for an AI & Automation Analyst to help our organization find smarter, more efficient ways to work.
Our organization includes restaurants, a brewery, an event venue, a millworks operation, and support functions. This role will work across the organization to understand how work is currently being done, identify opportunities for improvement, and determine where AI, automation, and technology can create meaningful business value.
This is a hands-on, analytical, and cross-functional role. You will research and evaluate technology, analyze business processes, help design and implement solutions, support adoption, and measure results.
This is not a traditional IT support role. The focus is on understanding business needs and using technology to improve how the organization operates.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze & Identify Opportunities
- Work with leaders and employees to understand current processes, systems, and challenges.
- Analyze workflows to identify repetitive, inefficient, or unnecessarily manual work.
- Identify opportunities where AI, automation, or process improvement could create value.
- Research emerging AI and automation technologies and assess their potential business applications.
- Evaluate opportunities based on business value, cost, complexity, feasibility, and risk.
- Help develop and maintain a prioritized pipeline of AI and automation opportunities.
Evaluate & Implement Solutions
- Research and evaluate AI tools, automation platforms, and technology solutions.
- Help select solutions appropriate for the organization's needs.
- Assist with configuring and implementing approved AI and automation tools.
- Build or coordinate automated workflows and AI-enabled solutions.
- Work with internal teams and external vendors on integrations and implementation.
- Test solutions and identify issues before and after implementation.
- Document processes, solutions, and workflows.
- Monitor implemented solutions and recommend improvements.
IT, Security & Data
- Apply a strong understanding of IT and security principles when evaluating AI and automation solutions.
- Consider privacy, confidentiality, access, authentication, data handling, and security risks when assessing technology.
- Help establish practical standards for the safe and responsible use of AI.
- Evaluate AI and technology vendors from a security and data perspective.
- Help ensure employees understand what information should and should not be entered into AI tools.
- Work with IT and other appropriate stakeholders to address technology and security requirements.
- Identify and escalate potential security, privacy, or operational risks.
Strong IT and security knowledge is a significant asset in this role.
Support & Enable Our Teams
- Help employees and managers understand how AI and automation can be applied to their work.
- Provide practical training, guidance, and support for approved tools.
- Help teams adopt new technology and incorporate it into their everyday workflows.
- Translate technical concepts into practical solutions that employees can understand and use.
- Encourage responsible experimentation and continuous improvement.
Measure Results
- Establish appropriate measures for AI and automation initiatives.
- Track time savings, cost savings, productivity improvements, process improvements, and other meaningful outcomes.
- Monitor the adoption and effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Prepare analysis and recommendations for leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve or expand successful solutions.
What We're Looking For
The goal isn't to automate everything. The goal is to find the right opportunities where technology can make a meaningful difference.
We don't want AI for the sake of AI; we want results.
We are more interested in what you can do than the title you've held or the credentials on your résumé.
You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, technology, process improvement, automation, operations, project management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Strong working knowledge of generative AI and familiarity with current AI tools and capabilities.
- Experience researching, evaluating, or implementing technology solutions.
- Experience with workflow automation, low-code/no-code platforms, or system integrations is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage projects or initiatives from analysis through implementation.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good judgment around privacy, security, confidentiality, and responsible AI use.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- A curious, practical,
self-directed approach to solving problems.
Strong Assets
- IT experience or a strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Cybersecurity or information-security experience.
- Hospitality or multi-location operations experience.
- Experience with restaurant, event, brewery, manufacturing, or other operational environments.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud applications, AI platforms, automation tools, APIs, or business systems.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Experience with programming, scripting, SQL, or system integrations.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Relevant technology, cybersecurity, project management, automation, or AI certifications.
Education and certifications are assets, not requirements.
The Person We're Looking For
You see a repetitive task and immediately wonder, "Why are we doing this manually?"
You enjoy asking questions, digging into information, and figuring out how things work.
You're comfortable researching technology, comparing options, testing solutions, and working through problems when things don't work as expected.
You understand that AI is powerful, but you also understand its limitations and the importance of protecting information and using technology responsibly.
Hospitality experience is a plus because you'll be working in an environment where priorities can change quickly, operations are highly people-focused, and practical solutions matter.
Most importantly, you care about results, not technology for technology's sake.
Why This Role?
You'll work across a diverse group of businesses and have the opportunity to see your work make a tangible difference—from reducing administrative work for restaurant managers to improving processes in our millworks operation to supporting our brewery, event venue, and support teams.
If you're an analytical thinker who enjoys technology, solving problems, and finding better ways to work—and you're excited about the possibilities of AI—we'd like to hear from you!
