Windsor, ON | Day Shift | $30 - $50/hour, depending on experience

Our client is an established, Windsor tool and die manufacturer with a long-tenured team and a clean, fully air-conditioned shop. The company primarily supports the automotive industry and is actively expanding its work into nuclear and aerospace.

This is an opportunity to take on a key leadership role within the CNC department while remaining hands-on with the technical side of machining. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the current long-term Supervisor during the transition into the role.

Who This Role Is For

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced CNC machining professional who has progressed into leadership but still enjoys being hands-on.

You should be comfortable leading a small CNC team, scheduling and directing work, troubleshooting machining problems, reading prints, working with customers and stepping onto a mill when needed.

This is a custom job-shop environment, not repetitive production machining. The work involves large components, weldments and die work, with different machining requirements from job to job.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead and support a team of approximately 6 CNC operators
- Schedule and allocate machining work based on job requirements and priorities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and troubleshoot machining issues
- Read and interpret blueprints and support operators with technical questions
- Work with large horizontal and vertical boring mills
- Support machining of large weldments, castings and die-related components
- Support 3+2 machining and angle-head applications
- Step onto CNC equipment when required to support the team
- Work directly with customers on lineups,



technical questions and machining issues
- Manage tooling requirements, including ordering tooling, evaluating new tooling and coordinating trials
- Make practical day-to-day decisions and keep work moving across the department

What We're Looking For

- 10+ years of relevant CNC machining experience
- Strong hands-on background in tool & die, large-part machining or a comparable custom machining environment
- Experience with large horizontal and/or vertical boring mills
- Experience machining large weldments, castings or other heavy components
- 3+2 machining and angle-head experience
- Strong blueprint reading and machining troubleshooting skills
- Experience leading, supervising or directing CNC personnel
- Ability to schedule work, establish priorities and support operators across multiple jobs
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and confidence making decisions independently
- Comfortable communicating directly with customers on technical or project-related issues
- Basic overhead crane and forklift experience
- Reliable and dependable, with the ability to work effectively with different personalities on the shop floor

Machining & Software Environment

- Large horizontal and vertical boring mills
- Heidenhain controls
- PowerMill CAM
- SMIRT
- 3+2 / angle-head machining
- Large weldment and die machining

Nice to Have

- 5-axis machining experience




- PowerMill experience
- Heidenhain experience
- SMIRT experience - prior experience is helpful but not required

Schedule

- Day shift
- Working hours fall between approximately 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
- Monday-Friday, with occasional additional hours based on workload
- The CNC operation also runs at night, so occasional after-hours technical support may be required

Compensation & Advantages
