Overview

The Class B Refrigeration Operator supports the protected, reliable operation and upkeep of refrigeration and related mechanical systems. This hands-on role involves monitoring equipment, responding to operating issues, and completing maintenance tasks to help keep systems functioning effectively.

Responsibilities

- Monitor refrigeration equipment and related boiler and HVAC systems, noting operating conditions and reporting concerns.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues, using schematics to understand equipment and system layouts.
- Support repairs involving plumbing, welding, appliance repair, and other mechanical work within the scope of assigned duties.
- Coordinate with colleagues on maintenance and construction-related tasks, keeping work areas orderly and sharing relevant equipment updates.

Requirements

- Refrigeration Operator Class B Certification is required
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) Certification is preferred
- Skilled trade ticket is preferred
- Must have 5+ years of direct hands-on experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance with automated equipment
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Ability to think and respond well under pressure
- Must have well developed knowledge and experience with mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Electrical experience will be considered beneficial
- Experience with maintenance and repair of lift trucks would be beneficial
