Position: Senior Middleware Specialist

Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Specialist to support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and operational support of enterprise integration services and middleware platforms within a complex technology environment.

The successful consultant will provide technical expertise across middleware technologies, API management platforms, messaging solutions, cloud integration services, and DevOps-enabled deployment pipelines. This role requires a robust understanding of enterprise integration architecture, system interoperability, middleware administration, and the support of mission-critical applications.

Scope

Developing and maintaining secure integrations between enterprise systems.

Troubleshooting and resolving complex integration, performance, and middleware-related issues.

Supporting middleware deployment, monitoring, optimization, and operational stability.

Participating in release, incident, change, and problem management processes.

Collaborating with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Assignment Deliverables

System Monitoring and Operational Procedures.

Environment Build and Deployment Documentation.

Performance Optimization Recommendations.





Incident Resolution and Root Cause Analysis Reports.

Technical Knowledge Transfer Documentation.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

Minimum 7 years of experience in middleware/integration technologies in complex enterprise environments

Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions using middleware platforms

Deep understanding of system integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, REST, SOAP, event-driven, messaging)

Expertise in middleware platforms such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM WebSphere, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, or similar ESBs

Experience with API Gateway and Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect, Azure APIM).

Nice to Have:

Experience supporting large enterprise environments utilizing IBM, Oracle, and cloud technology stacks.

Experience with public key infrastructure (PKI), certificate management, and enterprise security frameworks.
