Lead mill performance at Impala Canada’s Lac des Iles Mine using mineral processing expertise and continuous improvement leadership. Work 14 days on and 14 days off in 12-hour shifts.
Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Senior Metallurgist provides technical guidance to mill operations and plant metallurgists. You will lead the metallurgical team, optimize plant performance, and support operational targets. The work spans safety, process improvement, reporting, and technical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily metallurgical guidance to mill operations
- Evaluate plant performance against established metallurgical KPIs
- Design plant trials, surveys, and test programs
- Lead recovery, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives
- Prepare metallurgical performance reports and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical or chemical engineering
- Five to ten years’ mineral processing experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing operating plants
- Knowledge of crushing, grinding, and flotation
- Robust analytical, leadership, and communication skills
