We are a friendly family in Aspen Woods (SW Calgary) looking for a caring and reliable babysitter for our 5-year-old son, starting as soon as possible. We hope to establish a long-term, flexible arrangement with someone our son can get to know and feel comfortable with, rather than relying on different babysitters each time. Schedule & Compensation We anticipate occasional bookings of approximately 2-4 hours, with a minimum of 2 paid hours per visit. Our hourly rate ranges from $25-28, depending on experience, qualifications, scheduling notice and specific childcare needs. Scheduling is flexible and arranged in advance based on mutual availability. We are primarily looking for occasional weekend and weekday evening care, with the possibility of daytime care during school closures or mild illnesses. A Little About Our Son Our son recently started kindergarten and is curious, imaginative, energetic and full of ideas He loves dinosaurs, Hot Wheels, Ninja Turtles, pretend sword fights, creative storytelling and reading everything from fun picture books to children's encyclopedias. He's generally easy to connect with when someone takes a genuine interest in his world and enjoys engaging with him through play, conversation and books. Our son has no known food allergies, and there are no pets in our household. We are ideally looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience caring for preschool or early elementary-aged children.
- Is warm, patient, dependable and genuinely enjoys spending time with children.




- Enjoys imaginative play, outdoor activities, reading and arts and crafts.
- Has current First Aid/CPR training and can provide a satisfactory police information check, including vulnerable sector screening.
- Is comfortable following an established evening and bedtime routine.
- Has early childhood education training or is currently studying in a related field (an asset, but not required). Depending on the time of day, responsibilities may include:
- Engaging our son in child-led play, reading, crafts and other age-appropriate activities.
- Serving meals or snacks provided by us and doing light cleanup afterward.
- Taking him for neighbourhood walks, playing in our backyard or visiting a nearby playground, weather permitting.
- Helping with his evening routine and putting him to bed when needed.
- Providing occasional care during mild illnesses, subject to mutual agreement and comfort level. We value open communication, reliability and a calm, positive approach to childcare.
