Apply truck operation and winter control skills with the Region of Waterloo. Operate plow, spreader, and maintenance equipment across regional roads.

As a temporary full-time Roads Maintainer, you will support the North Patrol Yard for a five-month contract. The work includes snow and ice control, summer road maintenance, material transport, roadside servicing, and equipment upkeep. You may operate tandem-axle dump trucks, combination plow and wing units, computerized material spreaders, loaders, tractors, and utility vehicles. Shifts can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities:

- Adjust salt, sand, and anti-icing application rates
- Remove snow and ice using vehicles and hand tools
- Install, remove, and transport snow fences
- Maintain vehicles,



equipment, and hand tools safely
- Perform traffic control around active worksites

Requirements:

- Functional knowledge of road-building requirements and surveying procedures
- Ability to follow Ontario traffic and safety legislation
- Computer skills using attendance and road-monitoring software
- Ability to complete traffic control plans and maintenance forms
- Availability for after-hours emergency and urgent response
