Founded in 2023, Small Axe Studios is 2K’s stand-alone studio in Burnaby. This experienced animator will help bring 2K’s next sports franchise to life through credible sports behaviors. You will work with Animation, AI, Design, Engineering, and Production partners. The position emphasizes quality, authenticity, feature support, and strong implementation from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion animation quality and authenticity within assigned features
- Deliver animations supporting the strongest possible feature outcomes
- Collaborate with Designers on animation-based feature design
- Influence technical feature implementation with Engineers and Designers
- Deliver animation quality aligned with the Animation Director’s standards
Requirements:
- AAA game development and shipping experience in Unreal Engine
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Strong understanding of sports-specific human mechanics
- Player experience-focused approach to animation development
- Open-minded, organized, proactive, and team-oriented working style
