Maintain GNWT buildings in Norman Wells through plumbing repairs, oil burner services, and computerized building systems knowledge.
Working under the Maintenance Coordinator, the Plumber supports facility operations across Norman Wells and other Sahtu communities. Duties combine preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations for plumbing, oil, and hot water systems. The work requires accurate records, basic electrical knowledge, hazardous goods knowledge, and awareness of applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain GNWT owned and operated facilities
- Inspect plumbing, oil, and hot water equipment
- Install and repair systems according to codes
- Perform oil burner mechanic services
- Complete frequent Sahtu community site visits
Requirements:
- Journeyman Plumber or Oil Burner Mechanic certification
- Three years of directly related experience
- Class 5 NWT Driver's Licence
- Knowledge of metric system and computerized building systems
- Eligibility for NWT Gasfitter Certification is an asset
