Apply advanced IFRS research and financial statement expertise at Gibson Energy’s Calgary Head Office, supporting accurate reporting and complex accounting conclusions.
As Senior Accountant, you will investigate significant agreements, non-routine transactions, and recent accounting standards. The position translates approved conclusions into entries and disclosures while supporting quarterly and annual reporting. You will also collaborate with Finance, FP&A;, Tax, Operations, auditors, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research complex IFRS questions, transactions, and accounting standards
- Prepare technical memoranda, entries, and financial statement disclosures
- Support implementation of new accounting standards and policies
- Prepare MD&A;, AIF,
and earnings materials contributions
- Maintain internal controls documentation, testing, and remediation
Requirements:
- CPA designation with Accounting or Finance bachelor’s degree
- 5-8+ years progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting and IFRS research experience
- Experience managing complex reporting requirements and external auditors
- Excellent communication, analytical, and prioritization skills
