Flave Print is a locally owned print and design shop in Calgary, producing custom apparel, embroidery, signs, printed materials, and promotional products. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production Assistant to help bring our customers’ projects to life and keep our shop clean and organized. This is a hands-on role with a variety of daily tasks. You’ll help prepare, produce, finish, and package orders while working closely with our small team. Your duties will include:
- Print finishing: Trimming and cutting printed materials, finishing stickers and decals, and preparing completed products for pickup or shipping.
- Sign-making: Cutting and weeding vinyl, applying transfer tape, mounting printed graphics to sign boards, and assisting with sign assembly.
- Apparel production: Preparing garments, positioning designs, and applying direct-to-film (DTF) transfers and heat-transfer vinyl using a heat press.
- Embroidery: Helping prepare and hoop garments, operating embroidery equipment once trained, trimming threads, removing backing, and inspecting finished pieces.
- Quality control: Checking quantities, sizes, design placement, and finished quality against job instructions.
- Order preparation: Sorting, counting, folding, packaging, and labelling finished orders.
- Cleaning and organization: Keeping worktables, equipment, tools, and production areas clean; sweeping, removing garbage, and returning supplies to their proper places.
- Equipment care:



Assisting with routine cleaning and basic upkeep as instructed.
- Helping with other shop and production tasks as needed. What we’re looking for:
- Robust attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Someone dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- The ability to follow instructions, take measurements accurately, and handle materials carefully.
- Good organization and the ability to move between tasks as priorities change.
- Comfort with hands-on work, standing for extended periods, and moving materials throughout the shop.
- The ability to work independently after training and communicate well with a small team.
- A willingness to help with cleaning and everyday shop duties. Experience with heat presses, DTF transfers, embroidery, vinyl cutting, sign-making, or print finishing is an asset. We’re also open to someone with strong practical skills and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided on our equipment and production processes.
