About Prospeo
Prospeo is a B2B SaaS sales intelligence platform used by over 2,000 companies worldwide. We help sales teams find verified contact data with 97%+ accuracy through triple verification, and Clay, the leading GTM data platform, ranks Prospeo as the most accurate provider in the industry. We are a team of about 20, fully remote, and scaling fast.
The Role
We are looking for a privacy-minded legal specialist to support our founders on data privacy compliance and commercial contracts, 10 to 15 hours per week.
Most of our day-to-day legal work is already handled with strong internal tooling and AI. What we need is a sharp person who can research a question properly, apply good judgment, and help the founders make the important calls with confidence. You do not need to be a practising lawyer. You do need a solid data privacy background and the ability to read a contract or a regulation and explain clearly what it means for us.
This is a flexible, remote, part-time contract role with a direct line to the co-founders. The hours are steady every week, and you can organise them around your other commitments.
Responsibilities
Data Privacy
- Keep our privacy program on track across GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and other US state privacy laws, PIPEDA, and Quebec Law 25
- Research data broker registration requirements in the US states that matter to us, prepare the filings, and track renewal deadlines
- Review how we handle data subject requests (access, deletion, opt-out) and help improve the process
- Keep our privacy policy, records of processing, and related documents up to date
- Answer privacy questions from the team and from customers' due diligence questionnaires
Contracts
- Review contracts flagged by our internal tooling (DPAs, NDAs, customer, partner, and vendor agreements) and give a clear recommendation on the points that matter
- Help the founders decide on important clauses: liability, data use, indemnities, and similar terms
- Help keep our contract templates and fallback positions consistent
- Research legal and regulatory questions and write short, clear answers the founders can act on
- Recognise when a matter needs a qualified lawyer or outside firm, and prepare a clean brief for them
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or legal work, ideally in tech or SaaS
- Hands-on knowledge of GDPR and/or CCPA
- Comfortable reading and summarising contracts and regulations
- Strong research and writing skills in English
- Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) every day, while checking the output with your own judgment
- Reliable and autonomous: you can take a question and come back with a clear answer without hand-holding
Nice to Have
- An IAPP privacy certification (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPP/C, or CIPM)
- A law degree, paralegal training, or legal qualification in any jurisdiction
- Experience with US data broker registrations or state privacy laws
- Experience at a B2B SaaS, data, or sales intelligence company
- Familiarity with SOC 2 or ISO 27001
What We Offer
- CA$80 to CA$100 per hour for 10 to 15 steady hours per week
- Flexible, remote work you can fit around other commitments
- Direct work with the co-founders on real decisions
- Up-to-date internal legal tooling and AI support, so your hours go to judgment, not paperwork
- The chance to grow the role as the company grows
