The position requires confident use of hand and power tools, comfort working at heights and on lifts, and a strong commitment to precision and safe work practices in a heavy-duty construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install multiple conveyor systems and a mechanical grid structure according to engineering specifications and installation plans.
- Install and complete all elements of the grid automation system, including grid install, cladding, false bottom totes, grid finishing, peripheral stations, maintenance areas, and charging stations.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical assembly and installation tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Work in small teams to coordinate tasks, share information, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Operate or work alongside operators of scissor lifts and other access equipment to perform installation work at heights as required.

- Participate in required equipment certifications, including scissor lift certification, and comply with requirements for forklift-licensed personnel on the team.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in conveyor installation, construction labour, millwright work, welding, or similar mechanical installation roles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble and install mechanical systems with precision.
- Proven experience using hand and power tools in a construction or industrial environment.
- Experience working in heavy-duty or industrial construction environments, including active construction sites.
- Comfort and experience working at heights, including on platforms and elevated structures.

- Ability to read and work with imperial measurements using measuring tapes and related tools.
- Capability to work collaboratively in small teams and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, positioning, and assembling mechanical components for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts and aerial work platforms (AWP), such as boom lifts or scissor lifts, is a strong asset.
- Formal forklift license is highly valued; at least one in every three workers on the team must hold a valid forklift license.
- Willingness and ability to obtain scissor lift certification; all workers must be certified on scissor lifts before starting.
