Full-time Pay: Competitive wages based on experience Blackwater Constructors is looking for an experienced Pipelayer to join our growing civil construction team in Calgary. We specialize in excavation, demolition, underground utilities, and civil construction. As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for a skilled, dependable Pipelayer who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of safety, and works well as part of a crew. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with underground utility installations, a solid understanding of grades and elevations, and the ability to work efficiently alongside equipment operators and other crew members. Responsibilities
- Install underground water, sanitary, and storm sewer piping systems.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grades, elevations, and specifications.
- Assist with trench preparation, pipe bedding, laying, alignment, and backfilling.
- Use lasers and other grade-checking equipment to ensure accurate pipe installation.
- Install manholes, catch basins, fittings, and other underground utility components as required.
- Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and labourers to maintain productivity.
- Ensure all installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Follow safe excavation, trenching, and underground utility procedures. Qualifications




- Previous experience as a Pipelayer on civil construction or underground utility projects is required.
- Strong understanding of pipe installation, grades, slopes, and elevations.
- Experience installing water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems.
- Ability to read construction drawings and use grade-checking equipment.
- Knowledge of safe trenching and excavation practices.
- Physically capable of performing outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
