Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanic apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience working on various types of heavy equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and heavy machinery to identify potential problems.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including electrical components, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems.
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes and farm machinery for testing and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or field environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a dealership or heavy equipment setting.
- Proficiency in automotive repair techniques, including welding skills.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and other heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems related to diesel engines.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
