Maintenance Assistant Ontario Truss & Wall | Foxboro, Ontario Ontario Truss & Wall is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Maintenance Assistant to help maintain our manufacturing machinery, equipment, buildings, yard and vehicle fleet. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fixing things, takes pride in their work and wants variety in their day. You will work alongside our maintenance and operations teams to keep our facilities and equipment safe, reliable and ready for production.

Key Responsibilities
Machinery & Equipment
- Assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to manufacturing machinery and production equipment.
- Complete routine lubrication, adjustments, cleaning and replacement of worn components.
- Support maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Identify and report equipment issues before they lead to breakdowns or production delays. Fleet Maintenance
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs to forklifts, semi-trucks and trailers, one-tonne trucks and half-tonne vehicles.
- Check fluid levels, batteries, tires, lights and other components.
- Help prepare vehicles and equipment for scheduled servicing and inspections.
- Maintain service records and flag issues requiring attention from licensed technicians. Building & Yard Maintenance
- Perform general building repairs and upkeep throughout the plant and property.
- Assist with doors, hardware, fixtures and other facility maintenance needs.
- Support yard maintenance, snow clearing, seasonal cleanup and general groundskeeping.




- Keep maintenance areas, tools, parts and supplies organized. Safety & Team Support
- Follow safe work procedures, including lockout requirements, and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Work with the maintenance and production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
- Assist external contractors and service technicians as required.
- Perform work within your training and qualifications, referring specialized repairs to qualified personnel. Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
- Previous experience in maintenance, automotive repair, equipment servicing, construction or a similar hands-on role.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, follow instructions and work independently when assigned.
- Robust attention to detail, reliability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s licence and a safe driving record.
- Welding, fabrication, forklift operation, or hydraulic and pneumatic experience would be an asset. You should be comfortable moving between machinery, vehicle, building and yard maintenance as priorities change. Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
