About Us
Possibilities Clinic is a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary group practice specializing in comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatments. Our focus on Neurodevelopmental Diversity means clients across the lifespan seek our diagnostic and treatment services for ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Autism, and associated mental health concerns such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. Position Overview: We’re looking for a compassionate, versatile candidate to join Possibilities Clinic in a dual role as a Navigation Team member and Academic Instructor. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys guiding clients and families to the right services and who loves helping neurodiverse learners thrive through structured, research-based instruction. Navigation appointments typically occur earlier in the shift, while academic instruction appointments typically occur after 3:30 pm EST.
Key Responsibilities
- Navigation Team Member: As a member of our Navigation Team, you’ll meet with clients and families after their intake to help them find their way through our services. Building on what they shared at intake, you’ll help them choose the assessment, therapy or support that best fits their needs. You will:
- Review intake information, then meet with clients and caregivers (by phone, video or in person) to explore their concerns in a protected, non-judgmental space.
- Ask thoughtful questions to understand each client’s needs, including neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, learning disabilities) and mental health challenges.
- Know the clinic’s services in depth (what each includes, who it’s for, timelines, costs and expected outcomes), and recommend the best fit, whether that’s an assessment, therapy, academic support or a combination.
- Walk clients through next steps, including preparation, timelines and funding or insurance questions.
- Consult clinicians and leadership on complex cases, and follow up with clients to adjust recommendations as needs change.
- Document meetings accurately and on time,
in line with clinic policy and PHIPA/PIPEDA, and share client feedback to improve the navigation process.
- Academic Instructor: As an Academic Instructor, you’ll support students with ADHD and learning disabilities through structured, research-based one-on-one instruction. You will:
- Deliver structured programs. Use structured tutoring programs to deliver high-quality lessons that match each student’s educational needs.
- Teach one-on-one. Tailor your teaching methods and materials to each student’s learning profile.
- Assess and track progress. Assess students regularly with formative and summative assessments, and adjust instruction to address areas for improvement.
- Keep accurate records. Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
Qualifications:
Education and
experience:
- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in social work, psychology, health care, education, child and youth care, or a related field, or current registration as a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW) with the OCSWSSW.
- Experience supporting children, teens and/or adults with neurodivergent, learning or mental health needs, especially ADHD and learning disabilities (e.g., as a tutor, camp counsellor or coach).
- Working knowledge of common assessments, therapeutic approaches and support services, and an interest in learning them in depth.
- Assets: experience in client care, case management or care coordination, and registration with a regulatory college.
Requirements:
- Comfortable with technology and confident delivering sessions virtually.
- A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
is required for successful candidates before their first session. Skills and attributes:
- Compassionate, patient and non-judgmental, with a neurodiversity-affirming, culturally sensitive approach.
- A strong communicator and active listener who can explain complex information simply to children, teens, adults and families.
- Supportive: you help clients feel confident in their decisions and help students build skills and self-esteem.
- Self-aware and collaborative: you know the limits of your role and ask for support right away.
- Organized and discreet: you balance meetings, sessions, follow-ups and records while protecting confidentiality.
