Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist for a temporary contract expected to last 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of permanency. The ideal candidate will be an expert in NetSuite, with strong AR and collections experience, who can take ownership of cleaning up the AR schedule, resolving outstanding issues, and implementing improved processes. This person must be comfortable working independently with limited supervision, taking a leadership role in identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring the accuracy of AR balances and reporting. +++

Key Responsibilities
AR Cleanup and Process Improvement
• Take ownership of cleaning up the AR schedule, which is the primary priority of this role.
• Clear the backlog of unapplied cash.
• Clean up old and aged AR balances, including long-standing unidentified amounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and determine how to resolve outstanding issues.
• Help design and document a process for determining when to investigate variances versus write them off, including thresholds and approval levels.
• Review unbilled amounts, confirm their validity, and ensure amounts that should be invoiced are sent through to billing.
• Support the cleanup of AR reporting and reconciliations to ensure balances tie to the balance sheet.
• Review and improve processes related to cash receipts,



including how cheques are received and processed.
• Establish and implement processes to improve AR accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. Day-to-Day AR Operations
• Own the AR inbox and respond to partner questions and requests.
• Manage cash application and collections follow-up.
• Track invoicing status across revenue streams and flag items that are delayed or stalled.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Handle general accounts receivable responsibilities as required. +++ Qualifications and Experience
• Strong expertise in NetSuite, including hands-on experience navigating the system and resolving AR issues.
• Proven experience in accounts receivable, including collections, cash application, and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated experience cleaning up aged AR balances, unapplied cash, and complex AR schedules.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine appropriate resolutions.
• Experience developing, documenting, and improving accounting processes.
• Ability to take ownership of priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
• Robust organizational skills and attention to detail.
• CPA designation is not required.
