Reid Electric & Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. Our work includes residential and commercial electrical installations, renovations, tenant improvements, service upgrades, and troubleshooting. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship and can confidently manage work in the field with minimal supervision. The right candidate is organized, proactive, and able to plan ahead, solve problems, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently. You will work with our other journeyman electricians, general contractors, homeowners, and other trades to coordinate daily activities and deliver quality results. Strong communication, sound judgment, and a professional attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete residential and commercial electrical installations, renovations, tenant improvements, and upgrades.
- Install wiring, panels, feeders, conduit, lighting, receptacles, switches, and related electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements.
- Work independently, taking ownership of assigned tasks and following through to completion.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Test completed installations to verify secure and proper operation.
- Coordinate with general contractors, customers, and other trades to support project schedules.
- Communicate progress, material needs, site conditions,



and potential issues to the project lead.
- Maintain accurate job records, including time, materials, and changes to the work.
- Follow the Canadian Electrical Code, applicable local requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized worksite and treat customers’ homes and businesses with care. Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Journeyman Electrician certification
- Proven hands-on experience in both residential and commercial electrical work
- Strong installation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and complete work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong sense of accountability
- A proactive approach and the motivation to keep work progressing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication and the ability to work respectfully with customers, apprentices, and other trades
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Your own hand tools
- First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, and CSTS certifications Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
- Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, standing, and overhead work.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and use all required PPE. Work
